“A Nepal Evening” organized in Tel Aviv, Israel to promote the Visit Nepal 2020 campaignSunday, February 16th, 2020
The Embassy of Nepal, Tel Aviv in coordination with Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) organized “A Nepal Evening” to promote the Visit Nepal 2020 campaign in Tel Aviv, Israel on 13th February 2020. This year is also the 60th Anniversary of Diplomatic reactions between Nepal and Israel.
The Honorable Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation of Nepal Mr. Yogesh Bhattarai and H. E. Ambassador of Nepal to the State of Israel Dr. Anjan Shakya jointly inaugurated the very well attended event by lighting the Panas. Ambassador Dr. Shakya welcomed all the guests presenting a bird eye view on Nepal’s Tourism. The Chief Guest of the program, the Honourable Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation of Nepal, Mr Yogesh Kumar Bhattarai delivered comprehensive remarks on the Tourism potential of Nepal and the cordial realtions shared between the two countries. The Hon. Minister also requested the guests to visit during the Visit Nepal Year 2020 and beyond.
Ms. Nandini Lahe Thapa, Senior Director, NTB showcased Nepal in a visual journey covering all the major Tourism attractions of Nepal while emphasizing that Nepal is much more than only mountains. Although Nepal is already popular destination in Israel among the youth, the focus was on attracting the senior market who have more time and purchasing power to visit Nepal.
The Raffles session with many prizes was much enjoyed by the guests. Ms.Leah Grantz won two way air ticket from Israel to Nepal, sponsored by Turkish Airlines, with gratis visa as First prize. Similarly, Mr. Adiv Gal won 3 nights and 4 days accommodation in Nepal sponsored by NTB with gratis visa as Second prize, Ms. Aliza won 2 mountain flight tickets sponsored again by NTB with gratis visa as Third prize in addition to 10 sets of VNY 2020 with Lokta Diary announced as fourth prize. Also, bags containing a Tourism promotional materials were distributed to all the invitees.
There were several cultural dances by the Nepali diaspora and Dinner with Nepali and Local cuisine was served at the end of the program to about 250 invitees including the Former Minister and Parliamentarians from Nepal, high level officials of Israeli Government, Excellency Ambassadors, Travel and Tours agencies, representatives from Airlines companies, Nepali Diaspora, Friends from Media, among others attending the event.
