Nepal Participates in IFTM TOP RESA 2016, Paris, FranceWednesday, October 19th, 2016

PARIS, France, Sept. 23, 2016 - Nepal Tourism Board along with four Nepali private companies successfully participated at International French Travel Market (IFTM) Top Resa held in Paris, France, at Porte De Versailles between 20-23 September 2016. The 4-day event was attended by around 30,000 industry professionals, demonstrating the vitality and energy that characterize the travel and tourism industry. The fair offered multiple target markets (leisure, business and MICE) with a dedicated program for each and a comprehensive experience for trade visitors.

France, one of the largest countries in Europe with a huge outbound trend, has been one of the most promising markets for the tourism industry of Nepal. It remains the most important source market of Europe basically for adventure tourism and a good number of consumers enquired for the soft as well as hard adventure activities in Nepal. This years’ participation revealed encouraging signs for the Nepalese travel industry as most of the queries were targeted on knowing more about the accessibility, destination updates and new offers. During the fair, many French tourists visiting Nepal stand recalled their experience in Nepal as a very pleasant one and showed willingness to come back.

The Nepal Pavilion was very noticeable due to its unique and traditional pagoda style design. There was a good response from the visitors and the exhibiting Nepalese companies had good business interaction with them during the fair days. Nepal pavilion was attended by H.E Mrs.Ambika Devi Luintel, Ambassador, Nepal Embassy in Paris, Mr. Ram Babu DHAKAL, Deputy Chief of Mission and other officials from Nepal Embassy during the fair. Nepal’s participation in the 38th edition of this IFTM TOP RESA has helped boost the confidence of visitors to travel to Nepal with the dissemination of positive message that Nepal is back to normal after earthquake.
