Nepal Promoted Successfully at Tourism Fair in Xian, ChinaTuesday, August 30th, 2016

XIAN, China, Aug. 30, 2016 - This year’s Xian International Silk Road Tourism Expo (CSXRITE), concluded successfully on 28th August 2016. In the three day fair Nepal’s Stall was a highlight and the Stupa Design was appreciated by all. As a result Nepal was awarded Best Designed Pavilion Award in the closing ceremony.

The fair was visited by 56,000 public visitors and 5,000 trade visitors. There were 600 local and international exhibitors and altogether there was a representation of 42 countries.

On 26th Aug. Mr. Kundan Sharma, Sr. Officer, NTB gave a media interview and answered various media queries about Nepal. Through the interview he gave a message that Nepal was Chinese friendly and the Chinese were welcome guests in Nepal. On the same day he also gave a presentation about Nepal before hundreds of visitors highlighting the historical ties and friendship between China and Nepal. Various tourism products of Nepal were showcased in the presentation which was very helpful for the Chinese to understand more about Nepal.

Nepal’s participation in CSXRITE 2016 was hugely successful and we received a lot of queries about Nepal. The queries were mostly about the accessibility and other general issues about food, language and currency. Nepal Tourism Board provided the visitors with the necessary information about Nepal distributing various brochures, posters and souvenirs.

There were two Nepali travel trade companies in this year’s CSXRITE namely: Adventure Outdoor Pvt. Ltd. and Asia Exploration Treks Pvt. Ltd..

Nepal Tourism Board was represented by two Sr. Officers - Mr. Samir Bajracharya & Mr. Kundan Sharma (Mishra).
