Pokali Jharana, a new canyoning destination

New canyoning site has been developed in Pokali Jharana (waterfall) in Pokali Village western part of Okhaldhunga district.

The waterfall is located in the east-southern part of Leti village. The canyon spot starts from an altitude of 1,885m and ends to 1,240m. In this canyon, water falls at a rate of 80-90 liters per second and the water temperature is about 17 degree Celsius. This canyoning is rated as a grade 4.

The anchoring equipments have been fixed at the site by the joint effort of Nepal Tourism Board, Nepal Canyoning Association, District Development Committee, Okhaldhunga and Pokali Sewa Samaj.

Visitors can enjoy swimming in the water pool just at the fall. The nearby village, Leti provides home-stay facility to the visitors. The site can be reached by 10 hours drive from Kathmandu via Dolakha and Ramechhap and then just an hour uphill trek after crossing Likhu River.
