A solo art exhibition by visual artist Ishan Pariyar has been set to have a show in Siddhartha Art Gallery. The show is going to start on 12th June. Siddhartha Art Gallery is going to exhibit his paintings and drawings created since 2016. The exhibition contains 28 numbers of paintings and drawing in the theme of ‘REMINISCENCES’. Ishan Pariyar has received his MFA Degree in Painting from Central Department of Fine Art, Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu, Nepal. He is the recipient of ‘National Fine Art Award’ by Nepal Academy of Fine Art, ‘Creative Young Artist Award’ by Siddhi Setuli Pratisthan, ‘Sita Shree Talent Award’ by Pant Memorial Academy. This is his fifth solo art exhibition. He has visited China, Japan, Bangladesh & India in term of art related programs. The exhibition remains open till 9th July.
“Ishan's paintings depict the parallel journey that the Gods themselves embark upon, as each pilgrim carries an image of a sacred being in their hearts – the boat, the mind/heart, time and the divine metamorphose into one and these waters and time become the nourishing space for these spiritual transitions. There are there multiple voyages in Pariyar's paintings: do the Gods make their own independent journeys on these waters fraught with human or divine culpabilities? Are they the guardians of time or mute observers channeling their energy to make us preserve that which we hold precious and sacred for the future generation? There is no doubt that Ishan's beautiful and thought-provoking series current series asks many pertinent questions,” states Sangeeta Thapa, the Curator and Director of Siddhartha Art Gallery.
“Religious monuments are the witnesses of different times and eras. The moments we are breathing are the reminiscences for the future. No material things last for forever. However, it is a fact that the artifacts and monuments made by our ancestors still endure, thus making us realize the skill our ancestors possessed. The eternal and invisible force of the divine is imprinted on our psyche thus giving us inspiration to preserve these ancient monuments and beliefs. Sometimes this force makes us expand beyond every border and norm. Yet we humans wage wars in the name of religion. The choices are all ours and I have always believed that ancient philosophies if understood, will always lead us along the right path. Art to me is a medium to understand the divine and to find coherence in life,” says Ishan Pariyar, Artist.
